Authorities in Coquitlam have apprehended a suspect in relation to a string of blazes that occurred in Maillardville towards the end of last month. Over a span of four days, from Sept. 27 to Sept. 30, a minimum of four fires were documented in the vicinity, situated just a stones-throw away from the Maillardville Community Centre.
Each fire took place between the late hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., with one incident prompting the evacuation of a building on Hachey Avenue near Therrien Street. While there is no confirmation as to whether the authorities suspect the same individual of igniting all the fires, investigations are ongoing.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported amidst these incidents, providing a sense of relief to the local community.
