Toronto authorities have revealed a disturbing case involving a 16-year-old girl who was trafficked into the sex trade, resulting in an Ajax man facing a series of serious charges.
The investigation was initiated in September following a report concerning a teenage victim. Police claim the suspect utilized manipulation, coercion, and dominance to traffic the young girl.
The victim was allegedly coerced into taking explicit photos that were shared online and was then taken to a hotel in Toronto where she was forced to engage in sexual activities with clients. Authorities have stated that the money she earned from these services was seized and kept by the accused individual.
In a recent development, law enforcement officers conducted two search warrants at a location in Ajax. The suspect, Rocchino Perrotto, 53, from Ajax, was apprehended without any resistance.
Perrotto faces a slew of charges including trafficking a person under 18, procuring a person under 18, obtaining sexual services from a person under 18, promoting another individual’s sexual services, unlawful confinement, exploiting a minor, inflicting bodily harm during sexual assault, profiting from sexual services of a person under 18, possessing over $5,000 in crime proceeds, as well as two counts of producing or possessing child pornography with the intent to distribute.
The accused individual appeared in court following his arrest. Authorities suspect that there might be more victims involved and are encouraging anyone with pertinent information to step forward.
