York Regional Police (YRP) are appealing to the public for assistance following a serious multiple-vehicle collision that critically injured a motorcyclist.
The incident took place at the junction of Ravenshoe Road and Kennedy Road in Georgina around 8:30 a.m. last Friday. Initial reports indicated that two cars and a motorcycle were involved in the crash.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a heavily damaged black motorcycle in a nearby ditch, with the rider found in close proximity sustaining severe injuries.
The injured motorcyclist was swiftly airlifted to a Toronto hospital, where they currently remain in critical condition.
Preliminary findings suggest that a dark grey SUV and a silver pickup truck were present at the scene with visible damage. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported from the occupants of these vehicles.
According to YRP, the motorcycle and SUV were both traveling westbound on Ravenshoe Road when the motorcycle collided with the rear of the SUV for reasons yet to be determined.
The impact of the collision caused the SUV to swerve into the eastbound lanes, resulting in a subsequent collision with the pickup truck.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses dashcam footage of the area at that time to come forward and assist with the investigation.
