Tragedy struck on Saturday in Quebec City as a pedestrian, aged 53, tragically lost their life in a vehicle collision.
The incident took place on Wilfrid-Hamel Blvd. around 8 p.m., prompting the Quebec City Police (SPVQ) to respond swiftly to the scene.
Upon arrival, SPVQ officer Laurence Godbout noted the presence of concerned citizens providing immediate aid to the injured pedestrian.
Despite efforts to save the victim, they were unable to recover, succumbing to their injuries at a local hospital.
The driver of the vehicle involved, a 30-year-old man, and his passenger emerged unscathed from the accident.
Following the tragic event, SPVQ investigators cordoned off a large area on the boulevard to uncover the causes and circumstances of the incident. The boulevard was reopened to traffic the following morning.
