A former Bloc Québécois MP, Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagnés, is embroiled in a legal battle after losing her riding by a single vote in the recent federal election. The dispute focuses on a voter whose special ballot was rejected due to an address error on the envelope provided by Elections Canada. Sinclair-Desgagnés’ lawyer argues that the Charter rights of the affected voter were violated and claims that a new election is necessary in Terrebonne, north of Montreal.
