A record-breaking six million Canadians tuned in to watch the Jays defeat the Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series, securing their spot in the World Series against the Dodgers.
The game marked a new high for viewership on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, surpassing the previous record set during Game 6 of the 2015 ALCS. Viewership peaked at 8.3 million as Jeff Hoffman struck out Julio Rodriguez for the final out.
Fans were engaged from start to finish, with 1.9 million tuning in for the pregame show and 2.8 million staying for the postgame celebrations, including Vladimir Guerrero Jr. being named the series MVP.
The entire ALCS averaged 4.4 million viewers, with a total of 15.9 million Canadians catching some part of the action. The MLB Postseason on Sportsnet has been a hit, averaging 1.4 million viewers and reaching 17.4 million Canadians overall.
