The Quebec government has presented a new proposal to doctors in the ongoing negotiations, aiming to reach a final agreement. Health Minister Christian Dubé and Treasury Board President France-Élaine Duranceau expressed readiness to discuss the offer with the doctors’ federations, including Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ) and Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens du Québec (FMOQ). While the officials did not disclose the specifics of the proposal, they urged the federations to re-engage in talks to resolve the situation.
Concerns have escalated as doctors have taken measures such as halting the training of medical students, prompting Dubé to emphasize the importance of prompt action. Premier François Legault also called on doctors to return to the negotiation table, highlighting the critical need for progress in the discussions.
