Two Hospitalized Following Pair of Separate Road Collisions in Richmond

Authorities in Richmond are currently investigating two separate traffic accidents that occurred on Thursday.

The first incident, attended to by the Richmond RCMP, took place on Alderbridge Way close to No. 3 Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. A sedan driving westbound collided with a light pole, resulting in the driver being rushed to a nearby hospital. The driver is reported to be in critical but stable condition.

At present, Alderbridge Way has been shut down in both directions between Minoru Boulevard and No. 3 Road while officers from the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service conduct their investigation.

Later in the day, around noon, another crash involving two vehicles occurred near the junction of No. 4 Road and Odlin Road. One of the drivers sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

As a result of the second incident, No. 4 Road has been closed off between Cambie Road and Tomicki Avenue to facilitate the investigative process. The police have not provided a specific timeframe for when these areas will be reopened to traffic.
