Poll Reveals Carney as Preferred Choice Over Poilievre for Addressing Toronto, GTA Concerns

A recent survey conducted by Canada Pulse Insights for CityNews reveals strong support for Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberal Party in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. The survey indicates that a majority of Torontonians and GTA residents believe the Liberals deserve to be reelected based on their current performance.

According to the poll, 60% of Torontonians and 53% of GTA residents express support for Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberal Party’s reelection. Additionally, 45% of Torontonians believe Carney is best suited to address the city’s needs, giving him a significant lead over Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre. In the GTA, Carney enjoys 37% support compared to Poilievre’s 29%.

In terms of party preference in a potential upcoming federal election, 40% of Torontonians would choose the Liberals, while in the GTA, the Conservatives hold a slight lead with 36% support, neck and neck with the Liberals at 36%.

Interestingly, a large majority of both Torontonians and GTA residents, with 75% and 68% respectively, express that they would not vote for Pierre Poilievre and prefer someone else to lead the Conservative Party.

The survey was conducted between September 30 and October 6 among a random selection of Canadian adults in Toronto and the GTA. The results have a margin of error of +/- 4.9% and are accurate 19 times out of 20.
