“Vancouver Crackdown: Two Men Face Charges in Major Drug Trafficking Sweep”

Two men from Vancouver face charges following a recent crackdown on drug trafficking in the Lower Mainland, says B.C.’s anti-gang agency.

A thorough investigation conducted by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) uncovered a sophisticated drug distribution network involving large quantities of fentanyl and other illicit substances. The operation, initiated in February 2024, zeroed in on a suspect linked to the organized trafficking ring.

In a series of coordinated searches carried out in October 2024, authorities seized a significant amount of illicit drugs. Subsequently, charges were laid against the two suspects.

Ashnil Bobby Singh, aged 31, faces multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl and MDMA, as well as possession-related offenses. Meanwhile, 31-year-old Lenny Mauricio Umanzor has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine.

Following the charges, warrants were issued for the arrest of both individuals. Singh was apprehended in Richmond on October 9 and released with conditions, while Umanzor turned himself in to the authorities on October 15 and has been released pending his next court appearance.
