“Salmonella Scare: Popular Baklava from Trinity Bellwoods Market Recalled”

Residents of Trinity Bellwoods, Toronto are urged to be cautious as a batch of Baklava from Agora Greek Market on Queen Street West has been recalled over potential Salmonella contamination.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for Baklava sold at the market between September 19 and October 3 due to concerns related to a recent foodborne illness outbreak.

As a precautionary measure, consumers who purchased the affected Baklava are advised to dispose of it. Although no illnesses have been reported so far, it is important to be aware of the symptoms associated with Salmonella poisoning, which include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.

It is worth noting that even if food contaminated with Salmonella may not exhibit any unusual odors or appearance, it can still pose health risks. Individuals who are particularly vulnerable, such as young children, pregnant women, the elderly, or those with compromised immune systems, should take extra care.
