York Regional Police are currently conducting an investigation following a shooting incident that took place in a residential neighborhood near Bathurst Street and Teston Road in the early hours of Monday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of gunshots at Allison Ann Way around 5 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered several shell casings strewn on the street and a vehicle with damage in a nearby driveway.
Preliminary findings suggest that the shooting was targeted in nature. Duty Officer Peter Cheung informed the media that a male suspect discharged a firearm from a dark-colored vehicle before swiftly leaving the scene.
Notably, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.
While law enforcement had a presence in the vicinity prior to the shooting, it remains uncertain whether this occurrence is linked to recent similar incidents in Vaughan. In addition, officials are actively working to ascertain the number of individuals inside the suspect’s vehicle.
Residents can anticipate heightened police activity in the area as the investigation progresses.
York Regional Police are appealing to the public for any relevant information or surveillance footage that could aid in the case.
