Authorities have identified the 68-year-old victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in Abbotsford on Monday morning.
The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) reported that the incident occurred on Ridgeview Drive near Summit Drive at around 9:20 a.m. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found the man inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
Sgt. Paul Walker stated that the victim has been identified as Darshan Sahsi, a well-known local businessman from Abbotsford, according to an update from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Tuesday.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting was targeted, and no other individuals were harmed in the incident, as confirmed by IHIT. Police have released an image of a suspect vehicle believed to be linked to the homicide and are seeking information from the public to identify the occupant.
