Rainy Halloween Alert: Incorporate Waterproof Gear into Your Spooky Ensemble for Trick-or-Treating!

Get ready for a wet and windy Halloween night as a storm system threatens to drench trick-or-treaters. CityNews meteorologist Natasha Ramsahai warns that rain and strong winds will be the main features on the evening of the 31st.

The forecast predicts rain showers starting from 4 p.m. continuing through at least 8 p.m., accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 60 km/hr. Temperatures are anticipated to be chilly, hovering around 6-7 degrees Celsius.

Ramsahai advises parents to have raincoats handy over the kids’ costumes, as umbrellas might not withstand the strong winds. She suggests opting for raincoats and jackets for better protection from the elements.

The looming dark clouds are partly attributed to Hurricane Melissa, a powerful Category-5 storm heading towards Jamaica, bringing moisture that will merge with a local low-pressure system, intensifying the rainfall on Thursday and Friday.

In case the Toronto Blue Jays and L.A. Dodgers World Series extends to Game 6 on Friday, outdoor watch parties at Nathan Phillips Square and various locations in the Greater Toronto Area might also require rain gear.

Stay prepared for a damp and blustery Halloween night!
