In an exciting turn of events, Toronto Blue Jays’ rising star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. smashed his first home run of the World Series off Shohei Ohtani in the third inning of Game 4, propelling his team into a 2-1 lead.
The Blue Jays and the Dodgers just concluded a nail-biting Game 3 that went into 18 innings, lasting over six-and-a-half hours. The game ended with a bang as Freddie Freeman’s home run secured a series lead for the Dodgers.
In Game 4, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Max Muncy kicked off the scoring with a run on a sacrifice fly from Enrique Hernández in the second inning.
However, Guerrero Jr. stole the spotlight in the next inning by launching a two-run homer to deep left-center field, bringing Nathan Lukes home and giving the Blue Jays a 2-1 advantage. This significant hit also marked Guerrero Jr.’s seventh postseason home run, setting a new record for the Blue Jays.
Shane Bieber took the pitcher’s mound for the Blue Jays in Game 4, following his impressive performances in previous games. With a 1-0 record and a 4.38 ERA, Bieber has shown his prowess with 15 strikeouts and three walks in 12.1 innings.
Unfortunately, George Springer was absent from the Blue Jays’ lineup in Game 4 due to discomfort on his right side, a setback for the team.
The Dodgers currently lead the World Series 2-1, with Game 5 set to take place in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
