Durham authorities seek suspect in stabbing at large Pickering house party
Durham law enforcement is on the hunt for a suspect following a stabbing incident involving a 16-year-old boy at a crowded house party in Pickering last week.
The incident took place near Breezy Drive and Mink Street around 8:50 p.m. on Oct. 25, as reported by investigators responding to reports of an armed individual. Upon arrival, police found a scene where many young partygoers had scattered.
In the midst of a confrontation, a teenage male sustained stab wounds. The victim was initially found at a hospital in the Toronto area before being transferred to a trauma center for treatment of serious injuries that are fortunately not life-threatening.
Authorities have confirmed that a significant number of youth had congregated at the residence for the party at the time of the incident. The exact events leading up to the stabbing are currently under investigation.
Investigators are calling on anyone who attended the party or who may have recorded the altercation on their cellphones, dash cams, or surveillance systems to step forward and assist with the inquiry.
