Montreal Man Charged in Chilling Minor Exploitation Case

Montreal authorities are seeking individuals who may have been targeted by a man accused of exploiting minors for sexual purposes. Hervé Rouleau Turcotte, a 36-year-old man, was apprehended on June 9 following an incident in May 2025.

According to the investigation conducted by the Montreal police, Turcotte allegedly used various social media platforms, including Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook, to engage with teenage girls aged between 12 and 17. He would create fake female profiles to initiate friendly conversations with the teenagers, eventually urging them to communicate with him under his actual identity through text messages and video calls.

Under false pretenses of coincidental phone number discovery, Turcotte would send a photo of himself claiming to work in the restaurant industry, sparking further interaction. This manipulative behavior would progress into romantic gestures, daily messages, and calls, leading to explicit exchanges and attempts to engage the young girls in sexual activities.

The Montreal police’s online child sexual exploitation team suspects that Turcotte may have victimized others in the region over the past decade. Charges against him include solicitation of sexual activities, grooming of minors, and possession of child sexual exploitation material.

Authorities are urging potential victims who may have interacted with Turcotte to come forward. Descriptions provided by the police indicate that Turcotte, who may have misrepresented his age as 26 or 27, is 1.78 m tall, weighs 84 kg, and has brown hair with blue eyes and a slight French accent. Images of Turcotte have been released by law enforcement for identification purposes.
