Early on Thursday morning, the Montreal Fire Department swiftly extinguished a small fire that had ignited at an encampment in the vibrant Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood.
Responding to a 9:06 a.m. emergency call, the fire department arrived at the intersection of de Lorimier Avenue and Saint-Joseph Blvd. to address the situation where some refuse had been deliberately set ablaze.
Montreal police confirmed to CityNews that the incident was not deemed to be a criminal act.
Thankfully, there were no reported injuries, and the Fire Department reassured the public that there was no threat of the flames spreading beyond control.
