Merritt RCMP Officer Hit with Numerous Firearms Charges After 3-Year Investigation

A Merritt RCMP Officer Faces Multiple Firearms-Related Charges

Const. David Paul Feller of the Merritt RCMP is currently facing a series of firearms-related charges, including allegations of possessing firearms acquired through criminal activities. This development comes after a statement issued by the BC Prosecution Service detailed the approved charges against him. The events leading to these charges took place in Merritt and Kamloops between 2020 and 2023.

Feller stands accused of breaching trust, as well as two charges of possessing firearms acquired through criminal means and two charges of unlawfully storing firearms as stipulated by the Firearms Act regulations. Additionally, he has been charged with possessing unloaded restricted firearms with easily accessible ammunition and possessing restricted firearms in an unauthorized location.

The BC Prosecution Service has emphasized the impartiality of the decision-making process, stating that the charges were approved by a seasoned lawyer with no personal ties to the accused individual. Feller is set to appear in Merritt provincial court on November 18 for his initial court proceedings regarding these charges.
