“Montreal Police Issue Urgent Warning to Parents Over Rising Threat of THC-Laced Gummies Ahead of Halloween”

Montreal police have issued a cautionary message to parents as Halloween approaches, following a significant seizure of cannabis-infused edibles.

The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) conducted a series of searches that resulted in the confiscation of a large quantity of cannabis edibles. The seized items included 8,505 bags of THC-infused gummies, 9.8 kilograms of cannabis chocolate, and substantial amounts of hashish and cannabis.

Two individuals were apprehended for possession and distribution of these illegal substances.

Commander Sylvain Dumouchel of the SPVM’s West Regional Investigations emphasized the importance of the police’s efforts in removing these potentially hazardous products from circulation. He urged parents to remain vigilant, particularly during the Halloween season.

The SPVM clarified that there is no indication that the confiscated gummies were intended for distribution to children.

Authorities cautioned that these products were often packaged in brightly colored wrappers resembling traditional candies, posing a risk of confusion. Parents were advised to thoroughly inspect treats before allowing children to consume them, ensuring that the packaging is intact, sealed, and to be cautious of wrappers bearing terms like “THC.”

Individuals who come across any suspicious items are urged to contact 911 or their local police station.
