Early on a Thursday morning, a woman was startled by an unwelcome intruder at her home, as reported by the New Westminster Police Department.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. when the woman heard her patio door being opened at her residence on 11th Street near Queens Avenue, according to her account to the police.
As she approached the patio door, she caught sight of a person stepping inside her home, prompting her to scream, causing the individual to flee, as per the New West PD.
Upon contacting 911, law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene to search for the suspect.
Sgt. Andrew Leaver expressed, “It’s a distressing situation to wake up and discover an intruder attempting to enter your home. We commend the quick response of the resident in alerting 911, and we are committed to identifying the perpetrator.”
