The York Regional Police have shared gripping dashcam footage capturing the intense apprehension of three individuals involved in an attempted home invasion in Markham. The incident unfolded when a resident in the Warden Avenue and Enterprise Boulevard area alerted authorities at approximately 8:16 p.m., recounting a shocking encounter with three masked individuals posing as police officers at her doorstep.
Responding swiftly, police units located a white SUV trying to make a hasty escape. The dashcam video reveals a police cruiser closing in on the vehicle, prompting one suspect to leap out and make a daring attempt to flee by hopping over a fence. A thrilling foot chase ensues as an officer pursues the suspect on foot.
Meanwhile, the SUV, now missing one occupant, persists in its escape bid, only to be intercepted by another cruiser that forcefully collides with it, resulting in the shattering of the cruiser’s front windshield.
Following a gripping sequence of events, all three suspects are successfully apprehended by the officers. Additionally, authorities claim to have seized a handgun during the arrests.
The arrested individuals, Aquille Kadeem Malcolm, 27, from Toronto, Roy Joseph Gouveia, 24, from Durham Region, and Miracle Osamuyi, 24, from Toronto, are facing multiple charges including robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm, disguise with intent, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, and personating a peace officer.
Highlighting the concerning history of the events, the police report reveals that at the time of the recent offense, all three suspects were under a Judicial Release Order for unrelated crimes. Furthermore, it is disclosed that Aquille Kadeem Malcolm, in particular, has had run-ins with the law in the past, being on probation at the time of the incident.
