A tragic incident occurred in Montreal in the early hours of Friday morning, resulting in the death of a 69-year-old man who was hit by a driver suspected of being impaired.
The incident took place at around 3:40 a.m. in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough. Emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Décarie Blvd. and Plamondon Ave., where they discovered the victim lying on the ground. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the collision was a 26-year-old woman who was traveling south on Décarie Blvd. The Montreal Police (SPVM) detained her on suspicion of impaired driving.
SPVM investigators have cordoned off the area to investigate the causes and circumstances of this tragic event. As a result, Décarie Blvd. has been closed between Plamondon and Van Horne Ave. for the duration of the investigation.
