“Arrest Made as RCMP Responds to Gunfire Chaos in Osoyoos”

Canadian Police Apprehend Suspect in Shooting Incident on Osoyoos Highway

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have apprehended a suspect in connection with a shooting incident and a separate weapons offence that occurred on the highway passing through Osoyoos in the previous month.

The events unfolded on September 11 when law enforcement was called to investigate an alleged assault involving a weapon on Highway 97 near Cavesson Way. Shortly thereafter, another report of a shooting incident on Highway 97, in proximity to the Highway 5 junction, was received.

According to Cpl. Brett Urano, the investigations suggest that both incidents are linked to the same suspect, who was swiftly identified and taken into custody the following day.

The suspect, identified as Cash James, is facing charges related to weapons offences, assault with a weapon, and discharging a firearm with intent to cause harm.

James is currently held in detention pending a bail hearing.
