A man in Montreal was injured in a stabbing incident that occurred on Friday night and was reported to emergency services in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident took place near the intersection of Remembrance St. and 32nd Ave. in the borough of Lachine. The victim, a 52-year-old man, was found conscious with upper body wounds caused by a sharp object when police arrived at the scene, as stated by Officer Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Montreal police (SPVM).
The man was promptly transported to a hospital where his condition was deemed stable despite sustaining serious injuries.
According to the SPVM, a conflict between the victim and the suspects allegedly escalated around 11:00 p.m., resulting in the victim being injured. An investigation has been initiated by the SPVM to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident, with the scene secured for analysis by investigators.
Officer Chèvrefils mentioned that surveillance cameras in the vicinity will be reviewed, and as of now, no arrests have been made.
The motive behind the crime remains unknown, and it is yet to be determined if the victim was acquainted with the perpetrators or if the incident is connected to criminal activities.
