A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a pedestrian in Saint-Lazare, Montérégie, on Saturday night.
The heartbreaking event unfolded at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Bédard Ave., near Saint-Louis Road, as a vehicle struck a 35-year-old pedestrian who was left unaided by the driver.
Sergeant Marythé Bolduc, the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), revealed that the victim, a 35-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries later that evening.
The SQ’s Major Crimes Investigation Unit is actively working on the case to uncover the details and reasons behind this devastating incident. Reconstructionists from the Sûreté du Québec have also been deployed to the scene for analysis.
As of Sunday morning, no arrests had been made, indicating that the investigation by the Sûreté du Québec is ongoing.
