Authorities in Northern Ontario are looking into a concerning incident involving a potato chip bag containing a suspicious substance that was given out on Halloween in the town of Mattawa, located 60 kilometers east of North Bay.
A local family reported discovering a chip bag that seemed to have been tampered with and resealed. Initial tests revealed the presence of morphine in the contents.
Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the contaminated bag.
As of now, there have been no other instances reported, but law enforcement is advising parents to carefully check all Halloween treats for any signs of interference.
