A senior citizen, aged 81, was critically injured in Oshawa when hit by a vehicle.
Emergency services, including Durham Regional Police, rushed to the scene at the junction of Simcoe Street South and Mill Street at 6:30 p.m. last Sunday.
Witnesses reported that the man was crossing Simcoe when an SUV, not yielding at the green light, struck him.
He was quickly taken by paramedics to a trauma center in the Toronto area with severe injuries. Fortunately, his condition has improved and is now considered stable.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the accident site, cooperating with authorities.
