Elderly Pedestrian Hit by Motorist in Richmond, Sparks Community Concern

Authorities in Richmond are currently looking into a recent incident where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Monday night.

The Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) received calls about the accident that took place close to Gibbons Drive and Westminster Highway at approximately 8 p.m.

The pedestrian involved, an 85-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were reported as not life-threatening.

According to the Mounties, the driver remained at the scene and is assisting with the inquiry. Initial assessments suggest that speed and impairment were not contributing factors in the collision.
