“Authorities Nab Suspect Accused of Plotting to Arm Assault on Jewish Sites in Germany”

German Police Arrest Man Allegedly Planning Attack on Jewish Targets
German authorities have arrested a man in Denmark suspected of plotting an attack on Jewish locations in Germany. The suspect, identified as Tawab M., an Afghan national, allegedly conspired to obtain weapons for a potential assault on Jewish targets. He was in contact with a Danish individual believed to be gathering information for Iranian intelligence.

According to the federal prosecutor, Tawab M. had promised to procure a weapon for another person, aiming to incite an attack on Jewish sites in Germany. The suspect has a history of acquiring weapons and explosive devices in Denmark. The identity of the third person involved remains unknown, while Ali S., linked to the case, was apprehended in June and faces separate legal proceedings.

Tawab M. faces charges of incitement to commit homicide, as per the arrest warrant issued last month. Following his arrest in Denmark, he will be extradited to Germany for further legal proceedings. Enhanced security measures have been implemented at Jewish and Israeli facilities in Germany following heightened tensions between Israel and Iran in June.

Germany, a strong supporter of Israel, has had strained relations with Tehran and has actively engaged in diplomatic efforts regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Notably, in response to the execution of an Iranian-German prisoner by Iran, Germany closed all three Iranian Consulates last October, leaving only the Iranian embassy in Berlin.
