Tragedy Strikes Twice on Saint-Lazare Streets: Two Women Killed in Separate Pedestrian Accidents
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 73-year-old woman tragically lost her life on Tuesday morning in Saint-Lazare, Que., after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bédard Avenue and Sainte-Angélique Road. Despite efforts to save her, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, also a woman, received medical attention at the scene for shock. Authorities from Sûreté du Québec (SQ) are actively investigating the circumstances of the accident, with no charges pressed at this time.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another fatal pedestrian collision in the area. Just days prior, a 35-year-old woman lost her life after being hit about 2.5 kilometers away near Saint-Louis Road. Initially suspected as a hit-and-run, investigators are now pursuing all leads to unravel the details of the tragic event. The identity of the driver remains unknown.
