B.C.’s Environmental Assessment Office has approved a second floating work camp to accommodate workers helping to build the Woodfibre LNG plant near Squamish.
The office says its deputy chief executive made the decision, and it also requires approval from the Squamish Nation and the federal government’s Impact Assessment Agency.

The office says in a statement that those living in the so-called floatels are still restricted from access to the District of Squamish for recreation, entertainment or other non-work-related activities.
It says Woodfibre LNG must also continue to provide access to medical and mental-health services for all workers to reduce demand on non-emergency medical services in the district.
