The municipal party that lost Montreal’s mayoral election last week is challenging the four of the results where its candidates lost by just a handful of votes.
Projet Montréal is contesting the results in Lachine for borough mayor and city councillor; in Ville-Marie for city councillor of the St-Jacques district; and in Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève for borough councillor of the Jacques-Bizard district.
“In all of these elections, Projet Montréal was informed of several concerns that could affect public confidence in the results,” the party said in a release.
Projet Montréal says it will present “irregularities” to the Court of Quebec on Wednesday to request a judicial recount “in order to shed light on these concerns.”
