Police are investigating after the driver of a vehicle struck a man riding a scooter in Burnaby Tuesday.
The Burnaby RCMP says it was called to the scene of the crash at the intersection of Canada Way and the Gilmore Diversion around 6 p.m.
Police say the scooter rider, a 30-year-old Vancouver man, had the right of way in the crosswalk when the driver hit.
“The collision occurred at a very low rate of speed,” Mounties said.
BC Emergency Health Services says the victim was taken to hospital in “serious but stable condition.”
The driver, a 47-year-old Burnaby man, reportedly remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
