A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured Tuesday night in an armed attack in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough of Montreal.
Around 6:30 p.m., the teenager reportedly approached police officers who were at the intersection of Barclay and Victoria avenues and explained to them that he had been stabbed.
Officers from the Montreal Police (SPVM) quickly came to his aid. According to SPVM spokesperson Jeanne Drouin, the young man had significant upper body injuries.
The teenager was quickly transported to a hospital, where his condition was initially considered critical. On Wednesday morning, medical authorities reported that he was in stable condition.
The attack took place at the corner of Lemieux Street and Barclay Ave. At least one suspect was reportedly seen and fled before the police arrived.
Early Wednesday, the SPVM reported no arrests in this case.
