Vancouver’s Cambie Street Named One of the World’s Coolest Streets
Time Out, a popular travel magazine, has unveiled its list of the 31 trendiest streets globally, with Cambie Street securing the 20th spot. This vibrant street in Vancouver is among the only two Canadian avenues to be featured.
Described by the magazine’s writers as brimming with character, Cambie Street stretches from Gastown’s iconic waterfront steam clock to the picturesque Queen Elizabeth Park, passing through the charming Cambie Village in Mount Pleasant.
Formerly a quiet area, Cambie Street has transformed into a culinary hotspot and more, attracting visitors with its vibrant street art, galleries, and lively events. Noteworthy establishments include the longstanding Video Cat video rental store and the historic Park Theatre, currently undergoing a renovation by the renowned Rio Theatre.
For an unforgettable dining experience, Time Out recommends Osteria Elio Volpe, a sunny Italian eatery known for brunch delights and comforting Italian dishes. Adjacent to it, June offers a lively atmosphere with rotating DJs spinning vinyl tunes.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore Cadine for stylish wardrobe essentials and home goods, and Walrus Design Inc. for unique bespoke gifts.
Sherbrook Street West in Montreal also made the list, ranking at number 5, while the top spot was claimed by Rua do Senado in Rio de Janeiro.
