Search Intensifies for Trio Missing in Aftermath of Deadly Brampton Blaze

The search for three missing individuals continues following a devastating fire that claimed two lives and left four others hospitalized at a home in Brampton. Among the missing are a two-year-old child and two adults.

Authorities are meticulously demolishing the structure to preserve any potential evidence as they investigate the cause of the fire. Peel Regional Police Const. Tyler Bell emphasized the priority of locating the missing individuals and expressed concern for their well-being.

The residence, which was home to a multi-generational family, was engulfed in flames in the early hours of Thursday. Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene but faced a challenging situation.

Of the hospitalized individuals, one adult male is in critical condition, while the others, including a five-year-old and his pregnant mother, are stable.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown criticized the homeowner as an “absentee landlord,” alleging non-compliance with city inspections and licensing regulations. The mayor highlighted the city’s efforts to enforce regulations and expressed frustration over landlords circumventing local bylaws.

The authorities are investigating the property’s compliance with regulations and will be reviewing related documents to prevent similar incidents in the future.
