Tragic Accident Claims the Life of Young Man in Uxbridge
A young man, aged 20, has tragically passed away following a single-vehicle crash that occurred in Uxbridge earlier this week.
The incident took place at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from officers of the Durham Regional Police Service and paramedics who rushed to the scene located at the intersection of York Durham Line and Aurora Road.
According to authorities, the vehicle involved was traveling east on Aurora Road before veering onto a private road at the junction with York Durham Line. The vehicle, reportedly speeding, then careened off the road and into a vast field, as detailed in a statement released by the police.
The young passenger, aged 20, who was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, along with the 22-year-old driver, sustained injuries from the incident. Both individuals were swiftly transported to trauma centers in the Toronto area for urgent medical attention.
Tragically, the passenger’s injuries proved to be critical, and he succumbed to them while receiving treatment at the hospital. Meanwhile, the driver, though seriously injured, is expected to recover from his non-life-threatening injuries.
