A security guard at the Bell Centre had a close call when his coat snagged on a garage door, briefly lifting him off the ground late Wednesday night. Fortunately, emergency responders confirmed he escaped unharmed.
According to Urgences-Santé, the guard found himself caught in the garage door as it was opening at around 10:30 p.m., following the Montreal Canadiens’ game against the Washington Capitals.
Paramedics and Montreal firefighters quickly arrived at the scene to assist.
Despite the scary incident, the 60-year-old guard refused to be taken to the hospital and signed a waiver declining transport, as no injuries were reported by Urgences-Santé.
Several Canadiens players were present to witness the unusual event, which unfolded at the entrance to the players’ private indoor parking area on Sainte-Antoine St.
