The Boston Fleet kicked off the PWHL season in style with a 2-0 victory over the Montreal Victoire. Susanna Tapani wasted no time, scoring just 73 seconds into the game, while Megan Keller sealed the win with a power play goal in the third period. Aerin Frankel’s stellar performance in goal, making 25 saves, ensured a shutout for Boston. Tapani’s shot from the left circle slipped past Montreal’s Ann-Renee Desbiens, while Keller capitalized on a power play opportunity to extend the lead. Despite Desbiens’ 26 saves, Montreal couldn’t find a way past Boston’s defense.
Looking ahead, the Victoire will face New York in their home opener on Tuesday, while the Fleet will travel to Toronto for their next game on Saturday.
