Couple Slapped With Over 90 Charges in Brazen GTA Burglary Rampage

Durham authorities have announced that two suspects are now facing a staggering 90 charges in connection with a break-in investigation that spanned the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The investigation was launched on October 7 in response to a series of commercial break-ins believed to be linked to a small criminal group. Officials revealed that the suspects were involved in a string of thefts, ranging from stolen vehicles to license plates.

In a recent turn of events on November 14, law enforcement officers spotted the suspects operating a stolen pickup truck. The suspects attempted to flee on foot but were swiftly apprehended by the police. This led to the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen items, including two pickup trucks, an RV trailer, designer sunglasses, construction tools, beauty products, vapes, jewelry, stolen license plates, and numerous car keys.

One of the suspects, Charles Duguay, 52, from Alexandria, Ontario, is facing charges including failing to stop for police, multiple counts of break-ins, possession of break-in tools, disguise with intent, possession of stolen property, dangerous operation, drug possession for trafficking, and various probation violations.

The other suspect, Michelle Elida Wright, 39, from Mississauga, is charged with assault with intent, failing to stop for police, multiple break-in counts, possession of stolen property, prohibited operation of a conveyance, drug possession for trafficking, mischief, and multiple breaches of release orders and probation conditions.

Both individuals have been detained for a bail hearing as the investigation continues.
