An abandoned printing facility in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough was engulfed in a massive fire that started overnight from Sunday to Monday.
Emergency services were alerted just past 3 a.m. to the unoccupied two-storey building situated on Saint-Jacques Street close to Lenoir Street.
Around 80 firefighters labored to extinguish the fierce inferno, which persisted well into the early morning hours before it was finally subdued.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, and authorities are yet to determine if anyone was present inside the building at the time of the outbreak.
Fortunately, no injuries were recorded, despite the extensive damage suffered by the structure.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
