Toronto police are currently looking into a car rollover incident that occurred on Cherry Street close to the Distillery District early on Monday morning. The occupants of the vehicle ran away from the scene before emergency responders arrived.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) received a call about the crash at approximately 3:15 a.m. but found the vehicle unoccupied when they got there. The individuals who were inside had already left before help arrived.
Toronto Police Service (TPS) traffic services later found two people in the vicinity of the Distillery District. It is still uncertain which of the pair was driving the vehicle when the crash happened.
Authorities are unable to confirm if both individuals were passengers in the car, but they believe at least one of them was present when the rollover occurred.
The reasons for the occupants fleeing the scene are unclear, and the police have not disclosed whether the vehicle was stolen.
The investigation is in progress, and no injuries have been reported so far.
