Montreal Mega-Raid: SPVM Nets $230K in Drugs, Arrests Duo in Sweeping Operation

Montreal authorities apprehend two suspects and seize illegal drugs valued at nearly $230,000 in a recent crackdown.

A targeted operation occurred in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough and in Laval, aimed at dismantling a drug trafficking ring.

Law enforcement officers discovered a significant cache of narcotics during the operation, including 6 kg of cocaine and close to 7 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

Karim Chawki, aged 33, faced charges related to drug possession and trafficking after appearing in court. Meanwhile, his suspected partner was released without being charged.

The Montreal Police’s Narcotics Module under Project East spearheaded the investigation and arrests, with support from various SPVM units including neighbourhood station 31.
