“Pablo Rodriguez Claims Marwah Rizqy’s Actions Undermine Quebec Liberal Party”

The ongoing crisis within the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) has intensified as party leader Pablo Rodriguez expresses concerns over the actions of MNA Marwah Rizqy. Rodriguez addressed the media at the National Assembly, emphasizing the negative impact Rizqy’s recent actions are having on the party’s reputation.

During the press conference, Rodriguez faced a barrage of questions regarding Rizqy’s sudden dismissal of her chief of staff, Geneviève Hinse, which occurred the previous week. Rodriguez stated that Rizqy’s actions were detrimental to the party and expressed disappointment over the lack of communication regarding the decision.

Rizqy’s dismissal of Hinse, a close associate of Rodriguez, was done without prior consultation with the party leader, prompting Rodriguez to take action. In response, Rodriguez removed Rizqy from her role as parliamentary leader and suspended her from the caucus, citing a breach of trust.

In a letter to Hinse, Rizqy cited “serious ethical breaches” and “repeated acts of insubordination” as reasons for the dismissal. Rizqy, who represents Saint-Laurent, mentioned on social media that she could not comment publicly due to the sensitive nature of the matter, acknowledging the strain it has placed on her political connections.

Despite Rodriguez’s attempts to schedule a meeting with Rizqy to address the situation, he has yet to receive a response. Rodriguez emphasized the importance of resolving the issue promptly to avoid further speculation and uncertainty within the party.
