Authorities in Quebec, Canada, have made a chilling discovery as human remains, identified as those of a woman, were unearthed in a ditch in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
The alarm was raised on November 25 when a worker stumbled upon the bones around midday along des Érables Blvd., close to Gérard-Cadieux Blvd.
In a statement released by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), it was confirmed that the recovered bones are indeed human and specifically belong to a female individual.
A thorough investigation is underway, with the SQ’s Forensic Identification Service and K-9 unit combing the site on Wednesday to gather crucial evidence.
Efforts are focused on uncovering the victim’s identity and shedding light on the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
