The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has disclosed details about a tragic stabbing incident that occurred on the lively Granville strip downtown in November. Despite efforts to identify the victim, the VPD has honored the family’s wish to keep his name private. The victim, a man in his 30s, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital following the attack at around 3:15 p.m. near Helmcken Street on November 17. Law enforcement arrived at the scene but were unable to immediately identify the victim due to the absence of identification on his person. Investigators have ruled out the possibility of a random attack and are actively pursuing leads to locate the suspect.
