Two individuals from Alberta are facing charges in connection with a sexual assault case that occurred in northern Ontario in 2020. According to authorities, the incidents allegedly occurred in the Township of Gillies, located about 30 kilometers from Thunder Bay, over the span of 2020 to 2022.
A 73-year-old man from Wetaskiwin County, south of Edmonton, has been charged with two counts each of sexual interference and sexual assault involving a person under 16. Additionally, a 63-year-old woman from the same county is facing three assault charges.
The Ontario Provincial Police have revealed that both accused individuals were previously residents of Thunder Bay. They are scheduled to make their court appearance in December.
