Tragedy struck in Nanaimo as a small plane crashed early Thursday morning, with no survivors, according to the RCMP.
The authorities were alerted to the crash in a wooded area near Twilight Way at approximately 3 a.m. A significant debris field marked the scene, and sadly, there were no survivors found.
Mounties are currently present at the crash site, continuing their investigation into the incident, while Don Goulard from the Nanaimo Airport Commission mentioned that the small craft crashed about eight kilometers away from the airport.
The BC Coroners Service has also confirmed its involvement in the ongoing investigation of the crash.
