Breaking News: Highway 400 Chaos: Two Critically Injured in High-Speed Police Cruiser Collision in North York

Two individuals were seriously hurt in a collision between a civilian vehicle and a police car on Highway 400 in North York, according to a report by 680 NewsRadio.

The incident occurred just before 8 a.m. last Friday, as the Ontario Provincial Police alerted the public via social media about a multi-vehicle accident on the northbound stretch of Highway 400 close to Highway 401.

Following the collision, traffic on northbound 400 was restricted to a single left lane at the 401 interchange.

By slightly after 8:30 a.m., the OPP issued an update stating that the northbound 400 was completely shut down at the eastbound 401. The closure, as per 680 NewsRadio, spans the area between the 401 and Finch Avenue.

Paramedics informed 680 NewsRadio that they had transported two individuals with severe yet non-life-threatening injuries, along with a third person who suffered minor injuries.

It remains unclear whether a police officer was among those injured, or if the collision involved an OPP cruiser or a different law enforcement agency.
